Summer Session 2026
2025 - 2026 Mini-Mites / 8U-1 / M1
If your hockey player was a Mini-Mite or 8U-1 / M1 in the 2025-2026 season, this session is a great fit. Targeting 1 hour of ice per week in June & July (w/ 1 week off around 4th of July).
Drills will be age appropriate for newer hockey players. Expectation is for hockey players to have at least 1 hockey season of experience.
Experienced 8U/Mites and 10U/Squirts
(and potentially U12/Peewees)
This is for more experienced 8U/Mites, along with 10U/Squirts and potentially U12/Peewees. Players are split appropriately for age/skill.
Targeting twice per week with 75 minutes of ice followed by 60 minutes of dryland each day in June & July (w/ 1 week off around 4th of July).
Targeting ice and dryland at Highland Arena during the day on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and/or Thursdays, most likely during the first half of the day. Could potentially have some ice/dryland nearby, such as at Doug Woog Arena in South St. Paul. Expecting confirmation on these details in early February.
Goalies
Overview
Goaltender-specific training - "Goalie Time" - will take place for approximately half of each Hockey Time session, (35-40 minutes per 75-minute ice time...times are adjusted appropriately for 60 minute sessions) typically starting about five minutes in. After Goalie Time is finished, goaltenders will take part in shooting drills and small-area games with the rest of the athletes in the program for the second half of the practice. The goalie coach will continue to watch and teach the goalies during these drills.
Philosophy
Goaltender training will be built upon the "Three Rs" principle: Ready, React, Recover. The young athletes will focus on concepts such as stance, positioning, reading plays, save selection, body control, and puck tracking. Everything that is done will be built off of a foundation of strong skating and crease movement - with an emphasis on full-body positioning (being square to the puck, hands in correct position, etc.) and good balance while moving.
What to Expect During Goalie Time
The first 5-10 minutes of each Goalie Time session will focus on goalie-specific skating, using movement drills that came directly from an NHL goalie coach. After that, goalies will face 5-10 minutes of warmup shots, to get their eyes calibrated to tracking pucks. From there, 20-25 minutes of shooting drills will emulate in-game situations/scenarios.
Goalie Mentality
In addition to working on the physical skills of the position, the young athletes will also be taught mental skills to help them succeed as goaltenders, as it's arguably the most mentally-challenging job in sports. Confidence and resilience techniques will be explored, as well as other mental tools - such as visualization and "training by watching".

2026 - 2027 Season
We offer a variety of opportunities to grow our hockey skills, compete level, sportsmanship, and love of the game.
We offer day camps such as our MEA, Christmas, MLK Jr. Day, and Presidents' Day Camps to help our skaters hone their development while being productive and having fun on days off school.
We also provide Private Training for those looking for one-on-one or small group training.
In general, we will develop our skating, passing, shooting, and compete levels at age-appropriate levels, while enjoying the awesome game of hockey.
In our dryland sessions, we continue our training by working on our shooting, stickhandling, passing, and hand-eye coordination, along with plyometrics, ladder drills, and team building activities.
Please join us for growth and fun!
